- The compiled AngularJS app (app_compiled-bundle.js at 5.5MB) is too large to fully inspect, but core workflow is well-documented through locale strings and HTML templates
- Analytics tracking to google-analytics.com is present but does not affect login or paid features assessment

This is a free Google utility tool with no payment, subscription, premium tier, or billing code. All 'pro' keyword matches are false positives hitting 'process', 'product', 'procedure' in localization strings (e.g., 'Select a product', 'recovery process'). The 'billed' match is a false positive hitting Danish 'afbrudt' (interrupted). No payment platforms, no upgrade UI, no license checks.

- The extension is a standalone local utility that uses Chrome's native APIs (chromeosInfoPrivate, imageWriterPrivate, fileSystem) to create recovery media. The workflow (select device → select target drive → write image) requires no authentication. All keyword matches for 'auth', 'session', 'token', 'userid' are false positives from Closure Library license text (AUTHORS), analytics session tracking, and autocomplete UI code tokens—not actual login flows.
Garbage, just grab the config from here https://dl.google.com/dl/edgedl/chromeos/recovery/recovery.conf and use balena etcher

Trying to create a recovery image on an 8gb USB flash drive through chrome on a windows 11 laptop. When attempting to download the image I get the steps and how much time is left for the down etc. and items are unpacking. When NOT running in admin mode I get a prompt if a write to the device (I assume this is the USB device on drive E:) and I've click both Yes and No and neither works. If I look at file explore after the unpacking the screen says writing 0% complete for hours and now it Drive E: not available. It was available during the download so something is going on with the writing to the USB drive. When I try to run the browser in admin mode I don't get the prompts but it just goes back to step 3 write mode with no progress. I've tried this on two different laptops windows 11 laptops with the intention of installing chrome os flex on old windows 10 laptops that are not being used. On the first one laptop when I was trying different options to download to the USB, I was getting a format error about the flash drive and I unintalled and reinstalled the recovery utility and just ran in admin modethe error message went away. I am trying the down load for a 5th attaempt and will let it run for another hour to see if anything changes. When there is an attempt to write to the Flash Drive (the delay) Drive E: is not available. When I stop the Utility Drive E: becomes available. I gave sharing rights to the E: drive to everyone. After and hour of waiting there has been no progress on the write to USB drive. Here is something I found 2 years ago on the message boards that is the issue I am having So I attempted a few more times in safe boot with chrome browser and still no luck. The recovery image downloads, verifies, unpacks, then on the writing stage it sits at 0% even when I leave it overnight. The first couple times I tried over the weekend I received an error regarding removablestoragewriter service. I have now tried again running chrome as administrator and with both USB drives on hand. Any more thoughts? LATEST UPDATE Was looking into downloading and using Rufus to copy to USB drive then notice that the errors I was getting could happen to certain USB drives so I used an HP USB that could hold 32 gig and the download and copy / writing to the flash drive worked fine.
Did not work - was stuck on 0% writing. Software was for the Lenovo 100e Gen 2 AST. Alternate solution is to download the firmware from another website then flash the USB stick with software like Rufus.
выбрал взамен Виндоус7 и никакого толка! не пишет ничего на флэш
no funciona
If you're having trouble getting the extension started, try starting it from the extension icon in the upper right corner. It came right on, after hours of useless troubleshooting the extension. My Chromebook is back like new.
