It worked for a while like a breeze. Just install and there the old facebook was back without any need for "settings". I know now the developer of the extension can't be blamed for why it stopped working recently. This lack of freedom of choice feels very authoritarian. People have a point that the old layout looks better on a desktop or laptop. But even before the old layout there was another one that was still better I remember. Ideally I would like to close certain windows that I don't need like you can do on google maps or change the width of the columns.
The old layout extension of Facebook is not working and it is in the same hotspot as the new layout. I want to fix it very soon and give me the opportunity to use the old layout of Facebook. Because I or many of us are accustomed to using the old layout which causes me or many of us problems. As an alternative, use extensions that are no longer working today.

I use very few extensions; for security reasons. THIS one is invaluable. The author is slavishly quick to update the code; I just wish Google would be quicker to review and PUBLISH them! Like, right now, Facebook's latest push to lock their users into little ad chutes has broken the plugin.....for CHROME users. The fix is out RIGHT NOW on Firefox and Opera. So I'll be using good ol' FF to do FB until Google gets on the ball.
As of October 21, 2020. This extension has stopped working. Edit: October 22, 2020 The extension has been updated and is now working again.
