Really cool. BUT sometimes, low resolution (zoomed) images are displayed (e.g. Estevão Silva Natureza Morta with lemons). Also artwork is repeated more often than you'd expect.

A really cool chrome add-on. All it needs is a share option, so you can post directly to your favorite social network when you discover a cool new artpiece.

Same gallery over and over again. It'd be nice if I could pull in my own custom gallery from the google art project instead of the same few images I may or may not like.

Provides cultural enrichment by showing a beautiful artwork each time a user opens a new Chrome tab, replacing the default new tab page

Extension overrides Chrome's new tab page (chrome_url_overrides). Background service worker fetches artwork data JSON from gstatic.com/culturalinstitute/tabext/imax_2_2.json and caches it. When user opens a new tab, the newtab page renders a curated artwork with title, artist name, and attribution. User can click 'Change' button to rotate artwork, click artwork description to visit Google Arts & Culture for details, or use settings to toggle top sites/apps buttons and artwork rotation frequency.
