That's all what this extension does.
It does not change the behavior of how links are treated in your pages, if you want all links to automatically open in a new tab you'll have to find a way yourself (or another extension in addition to this one).
Again.. this extension only *focus* new tabs, it does not open links in new tabs automatically, if you want to open a link in a new tab you can click a link holding CTRL on your keyboard.

I found this is the reason for loading all of my tabs on browser startup, just like the other (older??) Tab Activate extension.
Second Update Day After First Review: Now, its working again. I think something on my end caused it to glitch. The stars aligned five times. Thanks, vdegenne! Updated Day After First Review: It's broken. It stopped working. It opens a new tab in the background when using the 'Open Link in New Tab' command from the right-click menu. Yesterday, it opened the link in a new tab, but it activated that new tab so it focused on it. What happened? Your guess is as good as mine. I don't know. Five stars fell to the 1 star level. It does not work as expected. That's too bad. Hopefully, this will be fixed. I'll give it some time before requiring myself to remove it. Thanks for trying, vdegenne. Works as expected. However, I will suggest to the developer to update the extension description on the Google Chrome Store because it currently does not explicitly state this extension immediately focuses on the newly opened tab when using the Open Link in New Tab command from the right-click menu in the desktop version of Google Chrome. Yet, somehow I ended up finding this extension, and I'm so grateful that it works as expected! Thank you very much!

I just now installed Tab-Activate V2, and it just immediately works (shifts focus to new tab as soon as link is opened in new tab)! What a pleasure! Thanks.
When opening a link in a new tab (middle click) from a subfolder of the bookmark toolbar, the bookmark menu is not closed.
Works as intended. Takes you to tab opened right after clicking on it with middle tutton.
