Loved this, but it's not working any more at the moment (2026 May 08)
my must-have extension, such a beautiful yet simple addition
Thanks a lot for the fork you made. I really love this extension and I’m glad it’s still available. I hope you keep maintaining it so it continues to work properly, especially now that Chrome has disabled the old Manifest V2 and is forcing everything to move to Manifest V3. Your work is very much appreciated!
So glad there's a Manifest v3 version of The Tab Limiter however it's not perfect. My favourite feature is that at a glance you can easily see how many tabs you have left to open, differing limits per window and total. However the alert does not work and if you have the "When window limit is hit, open tab in new window" setting enabled, it allows you to keep opening new tabs beyond the total limit.
