This extension adds a toolbar button to your browser to perform OCR. When this action button is pressed, it allows the user to select a region in the currently active window. The extension captures the area and tries to recognize text inside this region using the internal powerful OCR engine (Tesseract engine). This extension uses the "tesseract.js" library that supports more than 100 languages, automatic text orientation, and script detection.
This extension loads the JS library on the page and removes it when you are done. This way, there is no long-term resource usage.
Engines:
Tesseract: Only extracts plain text from images and doesn't preserve formatting
IBM Granite-Docling: it can accurately interpret headings, lists, styles (bold, italics), tables, and mathematical equations.

Вроде работает норм. Иногда распознает в картинках лишние символы, которых там нет, и которые надо удалять вручную. (‘&A‘“A:. = el)
it works people! it works well and fast! problem is no instruction. so here it is: click on icon. use mouse just like you do with snipping tool (windows). that's it! a window will pop up instantly to show progress and results. beautiful!
It doesnt work on pdf files with images

As the previous reviewer has said, it is not working. Clicking the icon and there is no response from the extension.
No documentation. Not sure how to even run it. Clicking the Chrome extension button doesn't do anything. Nothing on the web site to tell you how to initiate a read. Might be a great app, but lack of instruction makes it useless for me.

It can be kinda slow sometimes, and it can be slightly inaccurate occasionally, so you just have to double check it (by inaccurate I mean it may think an I is a J when using a weird font) but otherwise it works fine.
Из проверенных мной расширений - самое стабильное и точное из минусов не слишком быстро определяет текст но это значительно лучше чем переписывать.
