I usually don't review stuff but I almost didn't download this because of reviews I read about permissions and a sidebar popping up. So here's what I use it, what I don't use it for, and my opinion. I don't use this with twitch so I can't speak to any of the features based around adding emojis, changing chat name color or participation in prediction thing. Literally nothing for twitch. So negatives about that may be true. I use this only for youtube. I was looking for a solution to watching youtube live and getting theater mode to be more like twitch with the chat layout because youtube's layout sucks. This extension does that perfectly for me with no performance issue or anything like that. I also use it to hide that stupid little emoji fountain in youtube's chat. All the things I've seen about permissions being too intrusive are opinions I disagree with and I don't have a problem with them having all my browser data when I'm on youtube only. I hope they use it to make this better. I was easily. able to opt out of everything else. The sidebar thing is just silly and you can turn it off vey easily. I will say there are a couple places you have to jump around to properly adjust all the settings, not just the extension dropdown. Hope that helps people who are looking for the youtube solution I was looking for.
I don't like the side bar popping up, I changed it to be as minimalistic and unintrusive as possible and it's still annoying. Please give us the option to completely remove it! ty
Truffle used to be a good extension. While I don't believe there's malicious intent behind this extension, the permissions this extension now needs is beyond what an extension like this needs to function. There's a whole bunch of unnecessary clutter that gets added to the sites this extension is for which is YouTube and Twitch. Intrusive and unreliable.
The custom theatre mode for Youtube live streams is great, but the floating channel button is really annoying and cannot be disabled, the "channel is live!" popup that autoplays when watching videos is both annoying and shadily pumps viewer counts, and now they added a really invasive sidebar on Youtube that requires making an account to disable.
Installed this only to support Lud, why is this extension inserting html into every webpage I visit instead of just twitch and youtube? Kinda sketchy...
screw that side bar
It's been a solid stream viewing enhancement app, but the new sidebar is pretty invasive and distracting. Especially with multi monitor setups, i wish there was a way to turn this off completely. There are some options to make it a button that pops out instead of a whole sidebar, but this still is pretty invasive. It's actually making me consider uninstalling it.
It just works
Breaks Twitch for me, gives me "Error loading data" on the following page.
Custom theatre mode is currently broken on live stream VODs for YouTube.
