When your tabs are in the OneTab list, you will save up to 95% of memory because you will have reduced the number of tabs open in your web browser.
Privacy assurance
OneTab is designed for privacy. Your tab URLs are never transmitted or disclosed to either the OneTab developers or any other party, and icons for tab URL domains are generated by Google. The only exception to this is if you intentionally click on our 'share as a web page' feature that allows you to upload your list of tabs into a web page in order to share them with others. Tabs are never shared unless you specifically use the 'share as a web page' feature.
Additional Benefits
Storing tabs in OneTab can also speed up your computer by reducing the CPU load and memory (RAM) usage of your browser. Even a high-end computer can become sluggish when many browser windows are open, because each open browser window may constantly consume resources.

The main issue with this tool is you loose the entire history of that tab - when you save a tab into OneTab. One might not expect this, so be careful. Basically it is equivalent to *closing the tab* and *bookmarking* into a default homepage "Current tabs" page. It would be much better if it also saved the history of the tab. However as long as you are aware of this, it is a really useful tool to organise tabs.
BE CAREFUL. This just ruined my day... If you have an existing arrangement of windows and tabs, AVOID THIS. I just installed it, it "takes away" your tabs not remembering where they belong if you restore them. It opened up multiple new windows of the same tabs, making a total mess and causing Chrome to consume so much memory the it froze and was killed by the OS (without me actually opening anything new). Now I have to review and close countless duplicate tabs manually and try to understand what it did to get to the same working state I had before.
It works great and has been a huge help. Thank you.
This helped to consolidate my dozen windows and tab groupings that I've never wanted to close so that I don't lose it. Now I know it's not lost — and it's more organized, to boot! Very grateful a colleague recommended this tool.
I did not expect this to continue to get better. A staple of my browsing for a long time!
OneTab is great! I'd love to build an integration with my ArchiveBox extension (https://github.com/ArchiveBox/archivebox-browser-extension) to allow importing tabs from OneTab for archival. Is there a Github repo I can open a PR against to contribute this integration to OneTab? I just need to add a small chrome.messaging API + approval flow on first-use. Thanks for making OneTab!
GREAT app! I've got an older laptop and just started using OneTab to reduce resource usage associated with multiple open tabs. Thanks for making AND MAINTAINING such a wonderful app. The level of effort and expertise I'm discovering in this app actually feels like ?old-world software engineering,? before "enshittification" of everything. Just wanted to make you aware of an edge case: When I try to save a single tab into a new, EMPTY, folder, the "send only this tab" doesn't seem to work. So, for example, I created the VibeCrafting folder in OneTab. Then, I went to the tab in my browser that I wanted to store in that folder: OneTab/"Recent Folders"/VibeCrafting/"Send only this tab". If the folder is empty, this function won't work. So, the first time, I have to just save the tab in general folder ("All"). Then drag to specific folder. After that, it works fine, for any subsequent additions. Note, I've tested this 3 or 4 times and i keep getting same result -- it doesn't sem to work in initial empty folder. A minor thing, but just thought you'd like to know. Again, GREAT app. Thanks for all your hard work.
OneTab just keeps getting better! It's going to take me a while to come up to speed on all the new features and capabilities, but I'm looking forward to exploring all of them! The encryption and cross-device sharing are especially exciting.
