About the Google's new interface problem, I tried logging out and logging in Todoist and then refreshing my page and voila! it works! Guess Hit Refresh works for almost everything. :) I'm sure most of you must have tried this, but it worked for me, so wanted to share anyways.
Used to be great then all of the sudden it started opening the gmail inbox in a new tab instead of the specific email that the task was created from. Contacted support and was told it was a known bug and they're working on a fix. It's been couple of months at least and no fix so far.
Unfortunately linking back to the email in question does not work with the new (well, not that new) Gmail interface – @Todoist: please fix ASAP! Thanks in advance!

Does not work!
Stopped working after recent update. Now returns 404 error, page not found. Shame, was good while it lasted
As many have now stated Todoist is currently having issues with the new 2018 version of Gmail. I'm surprised to see posts here going back to June (it's now the end of August) without a fix. It's a HUGE GIGANTIC problem if you're using Todoist to link back to emails. I've hope they fix this or I'll have to find a new product. I've contacted the developer but have recieved no reply as of yet.
Used to work. Now I get an error when loading Gmail. The extension still appears to be there but when I click on it I get a 404 error. I have tried this in both the updated and classic versions of Gmail. No joy. Just a thought, could this be related to chrome vs. gmail? Perhaps the new "site isolation" feature in v67+?
It adds a mini "window" inside Gmail that often grabs keyboard focus, especially when first loading or refreshing Gmail. It's frustrating to have to repeatedly grab the mouse in order to make the keyboard work again. On the Mac, when it grabs focus it even intercepts Command+R ("reload") and Command+numbers (switch tab). I can tell this is what's grabbed focus because hitting "?" launches the Todoist help page. If not for the focus grabbing issue, it would be three stars because it needlessly clutters the Gmail window. There's no option to permanently disable the mini window while keeping the button for turning emails into tasks. I didn't want Todoist cluttering Gmail. I only wanted the single button.
