It didn't work out of the box. But once I went through the instructions to get my own API key it worked like a charm. It's a relief because all the other older extensions of this sort don't work anymore.
This is the only working extension I can find for Chrome and that is because this developer has gone above and beyond to figuring out workarounds to Youtube limiting public API's and writing a very easy to follow guideline on his Github page which you can find a link to after you install the extension when you click the icon. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HARD WORK!! I find Youtube generally unbearable when trying to find good tutorials and guides without a ratings preview, this saves me so much time. You are a legend!
Should have installed this long ago. I used the stupid "RatingsPreview for YouTube" for years until I realized it had become actual malware recently (probably why it no longer exists). This works well and (more importantly) is made by a trustworthy developer.
Old extension from another developer stopped working and wasn't supported. Tried a couple of others, they didn't work either. But someone figured it out! Boy howdy it was a pain in the noggin to try and figure out, and I was screeching in mental anguish at whatever the heck an "API" is, and restricting permissions and consoles, but eventually bumbled my way through the (well documented) process and.... it works! Video preview ratings fundamentally enhances the video viewing process. Someone revitalizing this plugin is seriously the best thing to happen since Enhancer for YT.
Works perfectly. There are a few easy steps you have to do (it only took a few minutes -- the directions are extremely clear and easy to follow) and it was absolutely worth it. I've searched and tried every other YouTube Chrome extension that shows the like/dislike ratio on video thumbnails, and this is the only one that has actually worked perfectly and without any sort of issues (doesn't interfere with the other "watched time" bar on video thumbnails, actually works on EVERY single video thumbnail including videos that were uploaded only a few minutes ago whereas some extensions won't work on recently uploaded/new videos, and doesn't have any other intrusive/annoying "features" such as redirecting Google searches to Yahoo searches like the other popular extension ever since it got bought out, etc). Makes using YouTube a much better experience.
Works perfectly! The Github set up instructions are simple and easy
A little more involved than most extensions, but only takes 5-10 minutes and is well worth the effort for really the only extension out there of it's kind. Great job Elliot and keep up the great work!!!
Super easy to use, and excellent guide on GitHub! Thank you!!!
API worked perfectly.
