I love that this extension focuses on legal and ethical access to research. Instead of relying on questionable websites, I can trust that the papers I’m accessing are legitimately shared by authors or institutions. It feels good to support a tool that respects copyright while still prioritizing access to knowledge.
I appreciate how lightweight and straightforward this extension is. There’s no clutter, no confusing setup, and no unnecessary features. When I hit a paywall, I click the button and often get instant access to the paper. It works across many major publishers and has become a permanent part of my research workflow.
The Open Access Button is incredibly simple to use and surprisingly powerful. I like that it works quietly in the background and only shows up when you need it. It has helped me access papers I assumed were completely locked behind paywalls. Knowing that it only finds legal, open-access versions makes it even better. Highly recommended for researchers, students, and educators.
As a student, I constantly run into paywalls when searching for journal articles, and this tool has been a lifesaver. With just one click, it often finds a free, legal version of the paper from an open repository. Even when it doesn’t immediately find a PDF, it gives helpful options to request the article. It saves me a ton of time and frustration compared to manually searching Google Scholar or multiple databases.
I was a little hesitant at first, but the Open Access Button has completely exceeded my expectations. The interface is clean, simple, and incredibly user-friendly. You don’t need to be tech-savvy to use it – I just click the button whenever I encounter a paywall, and the extension does the rest. It’s so convenient to have it directly in my browser, and I love that it also provides me with alternative ways to access content when it isn’t immediately available for free.
The extension can be slow and unresponsive at times, taking too long to search for open access versions before giving up.
This extension is a scam!
excellent

Instead of manually searching multiple repositories, I can rely on one simple click to check for open access versions. It’s incredibly efficient and well designed.
