I bought a Sleep Number bed for over $4,000 through American Airlines shopping portal only to find out that Sleep Number doesn't give points for mattresses!! Isn't that what they sell...mattresses? Soooo deceiving. Buyer beware!
The AA Shopping offers have allowed me to increase my points at a much faster rate!
Buyer Beware: While some stores validate points immediately, other stores like Coach Outlet are very slow and don't honor points even when you follow the rules provided. I purchased $900 of merchandise on a 4 point reward and never received any points. AAdvantage sent several notes to me stating that they were waiting for Coach Outlet to validate but it never happened and I never received the points. After 3 months the purchases roll off and AAdvantage drops the case leaving the consumer to never get the points. I called Coach Outlet to learn they have no department to help with such reconcilation and AAdvantage only contact is via email. My last email in July, AAdvantage eshopping stated that they were working to validate the April purchase with Coach Outlet however, no additional information had been received from the store. It really amounts to FALSE Advertising and there is no buyers recourse for getting a correction or update. Some stores are very efficient with the sales and purchase verifications but for those that are not like Coach Outlet, you have to follow up with AAdvantage Eshopping via email and just hope they follow up with the store because if the stores don't respond you will not receive the points earned. Very disappointing!
It is great to see what offers I have available and where/when I can get extra points on regular, everyday purchases. It's also useful to price match and compare between different offers from different credit cards
