Ever needed to quickly switch between user-agent strings on the fly? Developing a site that needs to work on both mobile browsers and desktop browsers? Sick of some archaic site blocking you because you're not using Netscape 4?
The User-Agent Switcher for Chrome is the answer. With this extension, you can quickly and easily switch between user-agent strings. Also, you can set up specific URLs that you want to spoof every time.
Please note that this does not provide improved privacy while browsing the Internet and that some sites might have other means to figure out that the browser is not what it pretends to be. Running this extension can have performance impact on your browsing experience due to its need to intercept and modify the data communicated to the server.
NOTE: if some sites have problems after using a mobile user-agent, and won't switch back no matter what you spoof, you will need to switch the user-agent back to Chrome *and* clear your cookies for the sites to treat the browser normally again.

Nice Extension! Now, I can easily customize my website for any screen ;)
Doesn't seem to work in iPhone or Android mode.. still shows the full version of the site.
It works fine with an * domain in the permanent list so that chrome can spoof as IE on my corporate network. But there's one glitch: I am using Chrome 22 and this extension disable the drag feature of Google Maps & I installed chrome just because of its great speed with maps :( So waiting for this bug to be taken off the extension.

If you're doing some testing, needing a mobile OS UA, like iOS or Android, this works great. Please keep the UAs updated.. No iPhone 5 yet!

Such a great add-on! However I'd really appreciate two more features: 1) ability to edit existing user-agent strings 2) is it possible to share custom user-strings via Google sync in Chrome? Once I install Chrome to another PC, the add-on get installed, which is great, but without my custom agents I created on different installation. Thanks for such useful tool! best, Jarda

Since T-Mob,MetroPOS, and others have gotten wise to "unauthorized" tethering, which they do via desktop browser blocking, this is a perfect way around their BS! Set to Android or ipad and tether away!
