I've been using this for a few weeks and it has become one of those extensions I don't think about anymore because it just works. The main reason I installed it was to hide videos I had already watched, and it does that really well. I also like having more control over what appears on YouTube without having to constantly adjust my habits. It is simple, lightweight, and doesn't get in the way. My feed feels much cleaner now, and I spend less time scrolling through the same content again
I've tried a lot of YouTube extensions, and this is the first one that actually does everything I wanted. The watched video filter works really well. Once I finish a video, it disappears automatically, but videos I've only watched halfway stay visible so I can come back to them later. It works across the Home page, Search, Subscriptions, and Related Videos without any issues. I also like how much control it gives me. I can hide Shorts, Live streams, Premieres, channels I don't care about, and even videos with certain words in the title. At the same time, I can keep my favorite channels visible no matter what. The extension is fast and doesn't slow YouTube down. I've been using it for a while and it keeps working even after YouTube changes things. Another big plus is that it respects privacy. Everything runs locally and it doesn't ask for unnecessary permissions. There are a few small features that I didn't think I'd use, but now I can't live without them. Being able to temporarily show hidden videos, see how many videos were hidden, and sync my settings across browsers makes the experience even better. This has completely changed the way I use YouTube. My recommendations are much cleaner, I don't waste time clicking videos I've already seen, and YouTube feels much less distracting. Easily the best YouTube extension I've used.
Finally i've found a good extension to hide youtube videos, hide shorts, low views and date filtering on youtube. I've got a problem and the dev fixed in few days! I've been looking for an extension with theese functionalities but but I couldn't find one and then Youtube Hider came up! With the latest update it comes also with blacklist and whitelist. Great!
Great job, i'm using it always to keep clean my youtube The Dev is just great, he always reply to feedbacks and fix problems real quick. With latest updates the extension has become a real youtube addon! Recommended
This is on the most recent. .deb installed Brave browser on Ubuntu. There are several playlists on various channels (i.e. not my own playlists) That I wish to watch. Within each of those playlists, I have already watched some of the videos. What I want to do is to play such a playlist and have only the unwatched videos play. After having installed and set up the extension, however, even though some aspects of it work (e.g. floating button appears and will allow me to change settings) and it IS enabled, it is not skipping the watched videos. To use round numbers as an example, let's say a certain playlist has 100 videos and I have already watched the second through tenth videos and the 12th through 19th videos. If this extension works the way I believe it should, I would expect that, if I go to the channel, show its playlists and select this playlist, that it would start playing the first video in the list, skip videos 2-10, play video 11, skip videos 12-19 and play the rest from 20-100. What actually happens, though, is that none of the watched videos get skipped and after the first video has played, it goes right on to the second one, even though it SHOULD skip to number 11. Am I missing something or doing something incorrectly, or is something else wrong? EDIT: I think I my have just realize my mistake. this extension (and others like it) do NOT actually cause watched videos to be skipped in playlists. They only hide them from view for convenience, but that has no effect on YouTube's actual player, which just sees the playlist and plows right through it. Thus, it may have been a misconception, on my part, causing what I WANTED to affect how I interpreted the extension's actual function. If that is NOT the case, and this extension really CAN cause watched videos to be skipped during playlist playback, please let me know how t do so,
doesnt work for white list subscribed channels, it hides anyway, also doesnt work after clicking video, near recommendations. ru language
EDIT: From what i can tell so far, you have fixed the issue, thank you so much <3 ______ Sadly, hide videos with low viewcount hasn't worked correctly in like 6 months. Even if i set it to 100 views, it hides videos with high viewcount (highest views on a falsely hidden video ive seen is 98k).
Started using it to replace "Hide Watched YouTube Videos" and it actually works great!
Latest update still does not hide videos correctly
Partially works. Does not hide videos older than 'x'. Regardless of time selected, old videos still appear. Everything else seems to work fine.
