Go back with the backspace button! This extension re-enables the backspace key as a back navigation button -- except if you're writing text.

What's New in 3.0:

==================

* Updated to Manifest V3.

Before Chrome 52, the backspace key navigated back (if you weren't writing text). Many people lost their progress while working online by accidentally pressing backspace and leaving a page -- so we removed the feature from Chrome, and created this extension for those who prefer the old behavior.

This extension can't restore backspace on certain special pages, for example any of the "chrome://" pages such as Settings or Extensions.

I'm rating the EXTENSION a 5 to help others like myself find it after Google's terrible decision to remove this functionality.

Now this is just wrong, this extension should not be needed. I want the same behavior cross platforms and browsers. The extension should DISABLE backspace, and leave the defacto standard in place!

What a hair brained decision. I shouldn't have to add an extension to Chrome to fix an issue Google created. Add a checkbox in settings for this feature, for crying out loud, or at least restore the backspace functionality altogether with a warning when pressing backspace on a form.

Why would you even remove a feature engrained into users from over 20 years? And not give us the option to at least just flag it?

Why not have a "Go Back With Alt+Arrow" extension instead of destroying a paradigm that has existed since the beginning of web browsers to fix a problem that most users will never experience. Chrome's days are numbered

The entire Chrome dev team should be fired.

Silly that this is an extension and not baked into Chrome as a toggle. What a waste of thousands of people's' time.

Should have just been an option in Chrome settings not an extension, but this does restore the functionality.
