How would I go about removing the tab at the top ofgoogle chrome please? I only want vertical tabs, not both vertical and horizontal. Edge gives the choice of one or the other and I really like using only vertical tab.
The panal is too wide. It is good if user can adgust the width of the panal freely.
I needed something to solve the issue with not seeing tabs after so many are open in Chrome. So, I installed Vertical Tabs (VT) and my tabs are finally in the Chrome "Side Panel" (no extra window to manage), already grouped according to how I had them grouped in Chrome. Sure, it's no "Tree Style Tab" in Firefox, which allows you more features, like moving multiple tabs at once into multiple tree tiers and changing the color of your highlighted tab (bg color and font), but it does what I need. I can open and close my Chrome groups from VT and when they are open, all the tabs have that group color next to them. You can add a tab in the group if you want quickly using the plus next to the group without having to drag a new tab from the bottom. Plus, all the right click functions for the tab are present in VT, including "New Group." You can basically ignore the top now, like I do with "Tree Style Tab" in Firefox. Btw, if you want to have this to the left or right of Chrome, you would go to Chrome Settings, type in "Side Panel," and the setting appear. It's the same side panel that shows Bookmarks, History, etc. because the "Side Panel" is a Chrome Setting. Also, VT is the least intrusive tab manager extension, only needing permission to "read your browsing history" and "view and manage your tab groups." It doesn't need to read you web pages. Kudos!
Plugin stopped working after updating chrome to Version 119.0.6045.106
Yass
best for vertical tabs
It does what it says. But I see 1 major downside instantly: You can only shrink it to a certain point. It's 2" wide and there's blank space where it's actually only filling 1" but it won't shrink any farther. I just hid it. I'll try another extension later.
best sidebar for tabs ever support tabs groups and closing tab(s)
Works fine. Dev really works on bugs and suggestions.
I really missed this feature in Chrome. Thanks a lot for having such great extension.
