Love the idea. (I don't like Google's new look.) But this extension is quirky on my machine (Late-2012 rMBP13, OS X 10.8.5, Chrome 30). It shows on some pages, but not on others. Sometimes it just appears after 5-10 seconds. Needs to load instantly. I don't want my browsing experience to slow down.

You are the man. Nothing better then this, i almost drop google chrome if i did not found that extension. The worst thing you can do is create sub menu in your daily usage.
I am soo glad there is an extension for this, however, it messes up the bottom of the page - shifting things down makes it so that (for example) my 'Send' button on my gmail is hidden. I can't scroll down to see it because it's shifted down below the edge of the window. Little flaw to work on - if there weren't those little things, this would be perfect. I might not be able to use it because of this.
It blocks some switching pages in google+
Black bar was useful, because it used query-string in all google services. But this addon doesn't that. So it is not useful.
As Google has removed the black bar and forced us to click too many times, this 'Proper Menubar' is a lifesaver. Will help restore sanity.
Google have gone full retard along with Microsoft to force PC user to use Mobile UI. Heck, even mobile is better with the black bar. Not only the removal of black bar is inconvenient, it is also uglier. The black and white theme actually look better than the streamlined version.
