Does not remember tab location or the status of the back and forward buttons. There's got to be a better tab manager than this one.
an addon i was loking for! Thanks :)
Yeehaw! 5 stars for Tab Wrangler! Are you a tab-aholic? Ever ask yourself which tabs you should close only to ultimately answer with "KEEP ALL THE TABS OPEN!!! ALL OF THEM! BWAHAAHA." Tab Wrangler understands you can't be trusted, and so, closes all the tabs you haven't touched in the last 20 minutes for you. The best part is, any tab that gets "wrangled" can just as easily be unwrangled by merely clicking the icon. It even keeps a running count of how many tabs it's closed thus far. Right now I am up to 36! Yep. FINALLY, there is an extension that fully appreciates how nuts I am and behaves accordingly. Thanks, Tab Wrangler!
Very good extension ... a must have for anybody having the habit to open many tabs on the side ... and then feeling overwhelmed when there are > 30/40 tabs :-) After I installed this extension, my browser (and my mind) feel clean and manageable again.
This is what I've been looking for to help with my Too Many Tabs problem. Tabs I use frequently stick around, but those that I don't need go away, but are so easy to bring back. And I can lock the ones I always want to keep around (e.g., email and Twitter). Best Extension Ever.
This thing is a miracle. I love when some tab is automatically closed and reduced the default time from 20 to 10 minutes. It's also awesome to see the tabs stored on the icon on the right after the chaos is finished. Don't be afraid, try it!
I do love this extension, but it does every now and then inexplicably lose its tabs. What's that about? Also, I will have duplicates show up in my list of one or two tabs. Right now I have 97 tabs in Tab Wrangler but I would say about 40 or more are duplicates of three or four tabs I had open. If I were to delete just one instance of these, the number shoots down to like 50 or somewhere around there.
This is an essential extension for anyone who writes software for the web. Sooo many reference materials are needed, from your OS, programming language and BCL up through your frameworks. Very often I end up with a billion tabs, 90% of which are reference pages for PHP or regular expressions or something else random that I needed to write the code ten minutes ago, but is now just wasting space. Having Tab Wrangler automate the closing of these sorts of tabs is great, and saves you the pain of "keep or kill" when you're out of screen space for your tabs. If you write software and most of your documentation is on the web: Get. This. Extension.
Thanks Jacob, for this memory saving plugin. Waiting for Firfox plugin also.
It doesn't work for me: all tabs have the same 'closing in' time, even though I use some and leave others idle. Also, after the time expires the countdown continues with negative time and it doesn't close anything.
