This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.
Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.
This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

Please make an extension for edge cuz it has built in dark theme which will look nicer with it.
Inverting the entire page is pretty heavy on browser performance
its nice and awesome
I've been using Dark Reader for a while, and its functionality is indispensable. But I've noticed lately (I don't know if I've narrowed down the cause for the first time, or if a new but is causing it) that Chrome is REALLY slow because of this extension. I'm currently here looking for a faster alternative.
I wanted to like it but have been looking for a theme where I could edit the text color from white to something else (green or yellow). There is a theme i use on my desktop for FIrefox that did just that (sadly ver 57/Quantum broke it... :/. Just a thought as I don't much like white on black either lol.

Really good extension, one of the best of it's kind. Tried it before, but some issues were preventing me from using it as default; However, trying it again today, after many updates, they've seemed to have improved significantly. For me, It still garbles the text on (FB's) Messenger on default, but since now they've added per-site customization, it's really easy to fix and customize it on a per-website basis, in case your settings break something, you can then adjust it. Dark Reader works better then most 'web darkners' I've seen, and I believe it is also lighter. Apparently on my laptop the text-garbling issue does not appear, but it does on my Desktop. First noticed it many many months ago, and just had a fresh Win 10 install, so that can't be it. Maybe AMD drivers? Maybe intel iGPU? No idea. Have been trying to troubleshoot but not much luck so far. Laptop runs under intel iGPU; Desktop, under AMD's RX480. (Apparently it makes the font slightly 'bold-er', in a way.)
