This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.
Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.
This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

One more star if you enable site detection, there's some sites that has black background... I know we have to do it manually... But... : /
This is much better than Dark Mode and Dark Theme Everywhere. It seems to work on nearly every site that isn't already dark-themed. Unlike those other extensions, this one tends to produce good-looking results for all elements of a page, regardless of their original style. It retains the variety within the original color palette, replacing each color with one that is similar but appropriately adjusted to an overall dark theme. Somehow, it avoids applying this effect to photographic-type content. In many cases, the overall result looks better than the popular themes that are made specifically for a particular site. It effectively replaces nearly all content theming extensions. The icing on the cake is the ability to tune the resulting color scheme. Personally, I prefer backgrounds that are dark grey but not quite off-black, text that doesn't contrast too harshly, and color saturation that is fairly high (but not too much so). This extension provides a way to achieve this everywhere with a set of global settings: brightness offset, contrast offset, desaturation, and sepia filter. Unfortunately, these settings seem to also apply to photographic content, despite the fact that they are excluded from the primary color-changing effect. It would be nice if such content was also excluded from these tuning filters. Also, I wish that the values of these settings would be adjustable with greater precision. For example, I would probably prefer a contrast offset of around -15, but I've settled with -20 for now. The only significant shortcoming (in terms of interrupting UX) is the lack of any automatic detection of sites that already have an already dark theme. Fortunately, it's very easy to disable the effect for a site that doesn't play well. Still, it would be really superb if the extension auto-detected such scenarios. It would be nice if the effect could be applied to content provided by extensions or by Chrome itself. If that's possible, that would be an excellent addition to a future update. Overall, I am extremely impressed by this extension, and my few complaints and wishes are very minor in comparison.
наикрутейше, спасибо, все просто и удобно, включил и работает на всех сайтах. Глаза не раздражаются и ты счастлив!
Unlike some other extensions that do a similar thing to this one, This one has been easy for me to configure so that I'm not blasted with a super high-contrast or really ugly inverted version of a website. This app is able to invert the color scheme on pages across the board and still soften the contrast and keep the balance of the site's original scheme. This is really saves your eyes if you spend a lot of time staring at a computer screen and browsing the web.
This has been my go to "night" mode extension for a long time now.
Jó kis bővítmény.
tuyệt vời vì 1 tương lai ko đau mắt
This is pretty great and the reviews are justified. I personally have been using for a long long time Night Mode Pro, which actually still is awesome and great. The biggest difference between this and Night Mode Pro though is how Dark Reader gives you more flexibility to alter the filter. The default is all awesome and great, but not all people will like the same settings and obviously not all people have the same monitors. Hands down this is the best of it's kind.
It Would be Nice if You... 1. Automatically made it so that the light came on at sunrise and the dark came on at sunset. 2. Do not invert pitchers or videos just make there mode brightness, contrast, grayscale and sepia the same as the the dark readers mode. 3. Could make this available for Firefox, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge. If you complete this task thin I will give you a 5 star loved it rating instead of 3 star It was okay rating.
Works like a charm with pdf's and images too. Extremely helpful when you're required to gaze at the monitor for long.
