This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.
Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.
This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

For now not working on distilled pages.
Badass with options. Must Try!
Fabulous work guys. But less stars because initially you had one of the options to invert the color of images as well. YOU MUST GET IT BACK. Many a times I have lines diagrams with white background which just pierces my eyes even more when I turn dark mode on. There is no need of software recognising when it is photo or line diagram. Just ALLOW US TO CHOOSE as & when required. You had it like that before when you launched. It doesn't work that way anymore. Hope you are listening.
This extension does what it says... just not all the time. Older webpages will not cooperate with this and will sometimes not invert any colors at all. As well, I've had issues with pages where, no matter what I do, the text on the page disappears when using "dark" mode, and some pages (Gmail being one of them) have less readable text.
Why can't I go into options? I used to be able to adjust the hotkeys, default pages, disabled pages, etc.
This has been a godsend... The high contrast for chrome started goofing up on me and was only working on some sites. Dark Reader solved this problems for me. THANK YOU! I can work efficiently now and not be blinded by glaring white web pages.
Works very well, The bright white background has always hurt my eyes. Thanks for a great add on.
