The extension is unreliable. If I close a different extension, it will close Upromise as well. If I shift to another page on the website, the Upromise disappears and may later pop up as a suggestion when I already thought I was linked. It's hit or miss with this one. If you make your website purchase instantly, I guess there's less of a problem. If you're shopping on the site and go to another page on the site, you lose U-promise! It's very frustrating.

Updated 11/30/2023: Downgraded to 2 stars. I have this loaded on my Chromebook and the popup appears when doing most online shopping. I click on it to activate....often multiple times as it will reappear as I'm navigating the retailers site. The issue is that while my browsing activity is captured on my Upromise activity, my purchases are hit and miss. I had a fairly sizeable transaction at an online retailer where the cashback amount was measurable. My activity was clearly captured but my transaction was not even though I had the supporting order confirmation with the timestamp that aligned with my browsing activity. I was given the credit that I deserved but there was a clear 'tone' in the email response that they were making an exception as though I had done something wrong. Since that time, I have had other online transactions, clicked on the activate popup for cash back and have only gotten credit for one of them. I love the idea of this extension but not if i have to constantly contact support and get a message as though I've done something wrong and am asking for some favor. I love the idea of this..I want to use it, but it simply needs to work better. 1/6/2002 - I recall that there was an extension a long time ago that wasn't good at all so I removed it but then installed the latest version in the past year. So far, I think it's great. The only confusion that I have is whether or not there is a timeout on the backend. I'm one of those people who will 'activate' the cashback, add items to my cart, and then contemplate whether or not I really want the items before checking out which might take hours. If I don't check out of my cart for a long time, is the upromise cash back still going to work? I think so? Maybe? Maybe not?

I really like this extension! It does seem to lose the connection to the web page if I am in the process of shopping different stores while trying to find the best price. I do really like the fact that it reminds me to check and see if the store I am shopping is part of Upromise.

Finally - Upromise Gets It Right with Extension! I've had Upromise since my 19 year old daughter was 2 and only recently (with this Chrome Extension) have I started to utilize any real savings. It's wonderful! I love the way it pops up and automatically makes me realize some savings...vs carrying around a key fob, etc. Plus, I always forgot to shop thru Upromise until this Extension came along. Thank you Upromise/Chrome...my daughter may only have 2 more years of college left, but this has certainly helped towards her savings!

I installed it thinking I wouldn't have to go to the Upromise website and it would notify me of website I didn't know about. Instead, I have had $0 credited to my kid's Upromise account. Even when I "accept" it, I went an entire quarter with hardly any activity though I was making many purchases.

I am very picky with respect to what extensions I select and use within Chrome. The Upromise extension is excellent! Sometimes I will go out to a Website with intention of shopping, and the Upromise reminder pop-up, informing me that I can save money on the site via Upromise, reminds me that I can get cash back on that site--NICE! It is not "intrusive" or "invasive" as many extension tend to be. Keep up the good work, keeping your customers informed!!
