Use this extension to annotate: highlight, edit, add popup notes, and page notes on web pages as you browse. The extension saves your changes locally, and next time the same URL is visited, the web page is replaced by your annotated version.
Click on the extension icon (page action button) next to the address bar to see different options. Restarting the browser is required/recommended after the initial installation.

Don't be put off by 3-year-old feedback. A lot has changed since 2022. Give this extension a chance - I did, and I am so happy with it. The developers actually listen to their users - how refreshing! They addressed & fixed every problem mentioned in previous reviews. The developers seem to genuinely care about making a good, useful product for everyday web users. Personally, I'm using this ext to add supplementary notes to the GIMP 3.0 Online User Manual (it's a painting program!) I type my notes directly in the User Manual. All my info is in one place instead of scattered across a ton of bookmarks. After a week of using CONTEXT, I can tell you why I like it: Quickly add (or remove) highlights and text comments on web pages. Multiple highlight colors available. Eraser tool to remove a highlight. Text comments available in two flavors: (1) "sticky note" text comment, stays in place on the page until you remove it; (2) "page note" text comment, attached to the page itself (stays at the top; can be minimized). Any note can be removed without affecting other notes. Controls are intuitive. No account login, no social media. Works perfectly in Vivaldi (a Chromium-based browser that isn't Chrome). This humble yet powerful extension is worth a try if you're a note-taker like me. The current 2025 version of Annotate web pages/CONTEXT works like a charm. You won't be disappointed.

Can't annotate, just shows FAQ and search.
вообще нет никаких настроек. Заметки показывает только по точному совпадению URL, то есть на некоторых страницах смысла что-то помечать вообще нет. Не умеет создавать плавающие заметки без привязки к каком-то элементу на странице
Does not require a log in. Top notch in every respect.
