Tired of YouTube not automatically setting videos to the appropriate quality?
This extension will not only let you specify the quality of the videos, but will also consider FPS!
This means, for example - if your computer can handle 1080p videos at 30 FPS, but not at 60 FPS - you can automatically set 60 FPS videos to play at 720p!
And the best part - it works for embedded YouTube videos as well! (I.e. YouTube videos that aren't in YouTube.com)
It can even automatically resize videos according to your preference!

This extension is powerful tool that will let you play all videos in HD and change video player size automatically.
Works perfectly for setting lower quality for my old computer that doesn't play 4k. Thank you!
The extension has been automatically disabled, since it seems to require a new permission, "Read your browsing history". How comes? I'm not sure if it is a required one, and it raises a lot of privacy related questions. If there is a fair explanation, or the permission is removed, I'll change back my rating to 5* in a heart beat. EDIT: changed to 5* after this question got answered.
I've been wanting a FPS-dependent YouTube quality switcher for a while, and this one is almost exactly what I'm after. I would just really like to see the FPS categories adjusted. I'd prefer the 30FPS option be redefined as being "30FPS and below" so I know that it'd cover 24/25FPS videos, with "Other" being anything from 31-49FPS, & 50FPS being anything from 50FPS to 59FPS & finally 60FPS being 60FPS and above. I think this would really perfect the user experience. Overall, great extension.
Glad seeing it working again. Always nice just clicking on a video and let it set to the top resolution, thank you very much for this dev, very good job!
