Thank you for clarifying on the privacy issue.
I have been using this extension for over a year now, and I refuse to do a windows install without it. I am not having the same issues that another poster was having (high CPU usage), matter of fact I have not got a single complaint about this extension. 13,427 people (at the time of this posting) can't be wrong....give it a shot!!
