Overlay the Twitch.tv live chat with Chatterino, bringing the native performance and features of Chatterino to the website. Have the same experience chatting no matter if you are watching or are in offline chat.
We use events and data provided by the browser to overlay a native Chatterino window over the browser. The information includes the channel in which the user is in, as well as the size of the chat. Changing the tab or closing a window causes the Chatterino application to hide/show the window. Chatterino tracks the position and z-level of the Browser window and moves itself accordingly.
NOTE:
- This extension only works on Windows.
- We need to overlay a native window over the browser window which is tricky by design and may not work for you setup.

It worked, replaced twitch chat with chaterino. However it also added another huge black bar, the size of another chat, on the left of that, which made the actual video player the size of a pea since there was no space left on the screen.
Needs an update after twitch changed its layout. It currently breaks the twitch page.

With the new update 2.1.3 I no longer get any errors, just had to reinstall the program. Good job! Works perfect
You need to update the chatterino app for the extension to work.
All features of the extension now seem to be 100% working.
Two issues: When tabbing away from Twitch, Chatterino forgets which channel you were on and replaces the chat room tab with <blank>, and this extension only supports Chrome on Windows, so no Chromium-based browser support or macOS/Linux support
Like the others have said, this extension does not work, and it seems to have been abandoned based on the last update it had received. I hope this gets supported again someday because Twitch's own chat can cause incredible lag if left open in channels with many viewers typing and/or using emotes.
