This is the equivalent of Printing to PDF that you get on every browser... with a catch. Some pages are "protected" against being printed, and this extension can, indeed, capture _some_ of the content which the browser printing tools cannot. It's not perfect, though. It *mostly* manages to take a snapshot of whatever happens to be in sight (i.e., the current page of a multi-page document, for instance). The editing feature is clearly in beta and doesn't quite work in the same way. A so-called "protected" page will contain nothing to edit. BTW, in the case you're wondering how a page can be "protected" against printing — there are several ways. Most typically, they rely on JavaScript to load bits of the page on demand. So, essentially, what you have is a "blank" HTML page (think of it as a canvas!), full of small JavaScript snippets, each of which will be responsible for loading a bit of the page. Once you move away from the page, or scroll down, or something similar, the JavaScript will "hide" the content again, and reload it (very likely from local storage on a browser) on demand, if you wish to see it again. Thus, page-extraction tools (and that includes most web browsers attempting to print a page) will have serious issues with these kinds of pages and probably just show partial content. This extension is at least good enough to get *some* of the content, but possibly not all. Why? It has to do with how it operates. Once a page is loaded — either traditionally, or via JavaScript injection — its various components are registered in a huge tree, containing all the content to be displayed, the Document Object Model (DOM). JavaScript can freely add and remove items on the DOM, on demand and upon request. But for a page — or a component of a page — to be actually visible to the *user*, its content has to be *fully inserted* on the DOM. And when that happens, exensions such as this one are able to extract whatever is on the DOM, and, instead of using the browser's engine to render it, they feed the whole DOM into their own systems (local or remote!) and attempt to create a PDF out of that. That's why some extensions will work better than others, and why, in some cases, even the browser's built-in mechanism *might* work, even when it's not a *prefect* capture.
it works for me as i expected. please be patient when the extension is taking screen shot of the web. it will take few seconds to fuse every screen shot into one pdf file. but it works for me. As a programmer, i wanted to keep some important tutorials offline. This extension take the screen shot of the entire web page and fuse into one pdf. so it retains the images and codes from the page. other webscrapping extensions doesnt work for me. Thanks for the extension
