NewsGuard's reliability ratings for news and information sources help users make decisions about which news sources to trust—and avoid misinformation and disinformation.
Our ratings, scores, and Nutrition Labels for websites are displayed next to links on search engines and social media platforms and cover all the news websites accounting for 95% of online engagement.
Ratings are conducted by a team of experienced journalists using nine basic, apolitical journalistic criteria. Each site receives a trust score of 0-100, an overall rating level ranging from “High Credibility” to “Proceed with Caution,” and a thorough Nutrition Label report detailing the site’s ownership and financing, content, credibility practices, transparency practices, and history.

It gives CNN 9 out of 9 stars, and CNN regularly promotes FAKE NEWS and never corrects stories if it goes against the narrative that they are promoting. I understand that all MSM sites have some amount of bias, but CNN is horrible, so if it gets 9 stars then this extension gets 1
As a writer and teacher, I welcome this extension. It's about time! Great job!
Such a great way to check my news sources!!
Could be very valuable in overcoming the current wave of populism. (On the other hand, I suspect that the supporters of the populists won't be installing this 😞.) Would be better if it could make distinctions within popular sites, eg. rather than giving a blanket warning about youtube, show the ratings of the media channels within youtube. Otherwise, users will just ignore the warning for these sites.
Great so far!
Does a great job of saving you the time of researching sketchier looking articles. A bit generous in passing out green marks but still so much better than the nothing we have now.
