I started getting "website wants to send notifications" alert after not seeing it for years. I was like, why am I seeing this now?? Turns out I went through a month ago and disabled any extension I couldnt remember ever using - this one included. I didn't even know I was using it because it just quietly does it's job with no fanfare - the perfect little app! If it's not working for you, you might need to go enable it because this thing is great
As other commenters have said, it is not meant to block the notifications themselves, it is supposed to block the "Allow Notifications?" request. Well it didn't even do that. I still got the request on every website I tried with it. Useless!!!
The one star reviews are from people who don't understand what this does. It doesn't block notifications, but it blocks the annoying prompt you get from websites when they ask for notifications. I also very much appreciate that the extension tells you how to disable the notification prompt without needing the extension. Good extension from good people.
It blocks or supresses the notification pop-up (left side of the URL bar). So, it works. Unfortunately, there are websites where I need the pop-up and I cannot override the block in the settings.

Most reviewers have incorrect expectations regarding the purpose and function of this extension. It does exactly what it intends: which is to block the notification that asks the user if they want to receive push notifications from a particular site.
It works, don't listen to the reviewers who mention it not blocking notifications, it was never meant to do that. It hides the PROMPT that asks you to turn on notifications, and at that it does a wonderful job. Fantastic.
This extension blocks the PROMPT to allow notifications, not the notifications themselves, if I understand it correctly
