# Google AI Studio - File Reader
This is a simple, privacy-focused Chrome extension designed to convert exported conversation logs from Google's AI Studio into a readable Markdown format.
## Functionality
Google AI Studio conversations are stored in the 'Google AI Studio' folder on your Google Drive. This file has no extension but is saved in a `.json` data format. While this format is useful for machine processing, it is not ideal for quick reading or sharing. This extension solves that problem.
- **Local Processing**: All file processing is done entirely on your own computer. Your files are never uploaded to an external server.
- **Simple Interface**: A clean and simple interface allows you to select or drag and drop a file for conversion.

april 2026 - There is a problem: now is always saving the "Thought process" part. There is no setting to avoid this. (Probably an internal TAG was changed.)
Per ora ha funzionato alla grande ed è stato velocissimo alla conversione del file. per i meno esperti non ci sono troppe info ma basta scaricare il file .json della chat di ai studio e o con aggiungi file e semplice drag and drop trascini il file nella finestra e in modo quasi istantaneo di ritrovi il file dove hai di default i download che nel mio caso e download. Grazie per il tuo servizio.

很好用，能把聊天记录转换md文件，非常感谢！如果后续的更新若能增加自定义的设置就更好了，比如默认的三级标题可以自己改为一级或二级，以及，因为内容中可能也会存在标题，可以自主选择，是否将每一条内容用都代码块打包，这样在obsidian里，结构就可以更清晰。
One click takes you to a page that only says: "Select or drag an exported AI Studio file to convert it." So basically it does nothing at all.
Finally I can easily copy Google Ai Studio chats in their entirety (with just 2 clicks)!
