So, answering your questions: “No and Yes” - it isn’t some “good” popup blocker. PopUpOFF is brilliant: https://github.com/RomanistHere/PopUpOFF/issues/16 - and you should definitely try it if you are as annoyed with popups, cookie notifications, overlays and other sticky things that overlay content as I do.
Why?
- PopUpOFF doesn’t just block some popups that other developers paid for, but YOU are in control of it. You decide not to have any single overlay on the screen or casually remove only the most annoying things (hi cookie notifications and subscription popups).
- You can unlock and read PAID content FOR FREE on some websites (see the video above).
- Size of this extension is 100 times less than any other average popup blocker in the store. Size doesn’t matter? Well… I wouldn't be so sure about that.

So far so good, it looks like it's working.

This extension blocks Facebook’s two-factor authentication page, preventing the entry of codes from an authenticator app. It took me quite a while to disable all of my extensions to determine that this one was the culprit.

It used to work well but now it has introduced a nasty bug. On all web pages when we click its pinned button, it acts as if we right clicked on the button. It opens the right click menu even if we have left clicked. Due to this the options to block remain unavailable making this extension quite useless.

Tried out other blockers that didn't stop the *annoying* overlay video from UOL to come up from time to time. PopUpOff actually worked. Thanks a lot!
Really good, way better than most, actually.
This is an effective extension, but there's a weird quirk: when YouTube is installed as a progressive web app, this extension breaks its rendering, making YT unusable. There may be other cases. I have no idea why the PWA context renders differently from a browser tab or window, other than sandboxing, but I definitely traced the breakage to this extension in that context. Somebody should take a look. Otherwise, best extension of its kind.
Even on aggressive, it doesn't work.
