Set Chrome’s browser tab icons to grayscale (“black-and-white”).
Favicons—originally “favorites icons”—are the small icons that appear next to the page title inside a tab in Google Chrome.
Many companies choose to utilize this icon as a way to show off their logo or brand. As such, they’re often colorful and bold.
In an effort to provide a more minimalist, distraction-free, browsing experience, this extension desaturates the tab icons.
I offer a similar extension that desaturates all but the current “active tab” for each Chrome window. That app is called “Desaturate Favicons” and can be found here:

Nice, works for almost every website; if not clear cache or use shift ctr + R. not perfect but helps the web becoming less distractive.
Works relatively well to get rid of the colorful junk in the bookmark bar. However, not every icon turns to grayscale (MS-Outlook stays in color) and several icons resume their original color when you click on them. It then takes some time to revert back to grayscale.
