This is the companion extension for the Chrome Remote Desktop website (https://remotedesktop.google.com). This extension enables you to install, view, and modify the Chrome Remote Desktop native client from the web UI.

Chrome Remote Desktop allows users to remotely access another computer through Chrome browser or a Chromebook. Computers can be made available on an short-term basis for scenarios such as ad hoc remote support, or on a more long-term basis for remote access to your applications and files. All connections are fully secured.

Chrome Remote Desktop is fully cross-platform. Provide remote assistance to Windows, Mac and Linux users, or access your Windows and Mac desktops at any time, all from the Chrome browser on virtually any device, including Chromebooks.

It tells you to install an extension on the remote machine. I did that. And then nothing. No instructions, no interface, it doesn't do a damn thing. It simply doesn't work.

Ипользую более 10 лет, палочка выручалочка. Низкий поклон разработчикам. Помогаю людям даже со стартовыми навыками использования пк. Более быстрого, отзывчивого и удобного приложения пока не попадалось. Можно делать практически всё, устанавливать программы, драйвера удаленно. Помогать старикам в освоении просторов итернета. Всегда видно, если дети в сети.

Nunca tive qualquer problema, mas ultimamente também não consigo aceder. Diz estar "offline", seja na extensão do próprio Pc, como na app do telemóvel. Aguardo uma solução. Preciso urgentemente de ter esta funcionalidade a funcionar corretamente.

Schließe mich der Aussage von Jürgen Brennert vom 14.03.2021 voll an. Hatte unter Linux Mint 21.2 und 21.3 in Folge das gleiche Problem. Nach dem ich einem Freund mit Hilfe RD als Plug-In helfen konnte, seinen WIN-10-PC wieder zu nutzen, wie es nötig war, hatte ich im Anschluss auch besagtes Problem mit den USB-Erkennungen und den Rechten als Benutzer. Dazu, dass Problem einzugrenzen und die entsprechenden Kommandos für das Terminal zu bekommen, konnte ich gut die KI von ChatGPT einsetzen. Es hat über 1 Woche intensiver Arbeit bedurft, herauszufinden, dass das Plug-In "Remote-Desktop "diese Spuren" auf meinem PC hinterlassen hat. Eine fehlerhafte USB-Erkennung kann unter Linux-Mint (und Anderen), ebenso wie bei WIN-PC sehr viele Gründe haben. Deshalb ist die Suche nach der Störung sehr umfangreich. Ein Fund in einem Linux-Forum (https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=326667#google_vignette), in dem der gleiche Fehlercode "...Quark4" auftauchte, brachte den entscheidenden Hinweis. Habe das Tool dann deaktiviert. Das brachte zunächst nicht den Wiederzugriff auf meine USB-Geräte. Es mussten noch meine Rechte und bei den "Polkit-Regeln" neu geschaffen werden. Auch bei den UDF-Dateien waren Prüfungen und Änderungen nötig geworden. Also die Empfehlung: VOR dem Einsatz solcher Tools ein Systembackup machen (Snapshot), den man ggf. wieder aktivieren kann, sollte es ein ähnliches Problem geben. Ich selber hätte nicht erwartet, dass ein Browser-Tool und speziell eines von GOOGLE solche Probleme hinterlassen kann.
