This is the companion extension for the Chrome Remote Desktop website (https://remotedesktop.google.com). This extension enables you to install, view, and modify the Chrome Remote Desktop native client from the web UI.
Chrome Remote Desktop allows users to remotely access another computer through Chrome browser or a Chromebook. Computers can be made available on an short-term basis for scenarios such as ad hoc remote support, or on a more long-term basis for remote access to your applications and files. All connections are fully secured.
Chrome Remote Desktop is fully cross-platform. Provide remote assistance to Windows, Mac and Linux users, or access your Windows and Mac desktops at any time, all from the Chrome browser on virtually any device, including Chromebooks.

Been using for years worked every time. recently after 1st of Jan after 22H2 Win 11 upgrade it simply just wont connect or stay connected
I dont know what the bad reviews are for but I'm using this right now and its Perfect! Thank you Google.

After years of heavy usage the webpage/app versions are totally usless. Not reliable, can't connect quickly, if you do get connected it drops. google has dropped the ball!!
Only Loader is Spinning not anything appears. Going Worst day by day.
Does not work at all, the extension only opens up this page when you download and then after says to download but nothing happens
At last, today 31.01.24, the extension is now working again. I can control my laptop from both my mobile phone (Galaxy S23 Ultra) and my tablet (Galaxy S7 Tab). Many thanks to Google & Microsoft for making this happen.
Where has the Remote Desktop option gone from Chrome settings? This treated the extention as an app and not a web page. The app gave a full screen view which was usefull over two monitors. This new `web page` view reduces the screen size too much. Other than that, it seems to work ok still (at the moment).
The old version that used to actually be an app rather than a shortcut to a page was really useful utility. I had multiple machines with the service installed and I was able to access them remotely without jumping through too many hoops. The latest releases usually never work at all or properly. If there was a better release more like the classic one than I would leave a better review.
