This is the companion extension for the Chrome Remote Desktop website (https://remotedesktop.google.com). This extension enables you to install, view, and modify the Chrome Remote Desktop native client from the web UI.
Chrome Remote Desktop allows users to remotely access another computer through Chrome browser or a Chromebook. Computers can be made available on an short-term basis for scenarios such as ad hoc remote support, or on a more long-term basis for remote access to your applications and files. All connections are fully secured.
Chrome Remote Desktop is fully cross-platform. Provide remote assistance to Windows, Mac and Linux users, or access your Windows and Mac desktops at any time, all from the Chrome browser on virtually any device, including Chromebooks.

The app has been generally good - it's easy to set up and use, however in my time with it I experienced issues when trying to interact with some areas of Windows, and things haven only gotten worse when I updated to Win11. For example, I couldn't dismiss the notifications covering the system tray. Certain windows/apps were not clickable and were stuck on the desktop, preventing me from interacting with other apps. I couldn't find a way to fix this so have finally decided to move on. It just got really annoying and my other app of choice doesn't have this issue.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD - The developers of this app put a virus with-in the app, probably for their own benefit.
I used to love Chrome remote desktop but ever since they changed it to the new extension it is now useless. Need to zoom in to see ANYTHING? Too bad. Want to copy or paste? Too bad. Want to do ANYTHING you were easily able to do before. TOO BAD! I have tried to use the new CRD and hoped that it would get better and the devs would work on making it useable but I have given up hope on this POS and am moving on to another RD app. Thanks Google for taking yet one more thing that actually worked and turning it into a burning dumpster fire.
Использовал в линукс долгое время, пока не столкнулся с одной очень странной проблемой - если в Ubuntu установлен Chrome Remote Desktop, то перестает нормально работать автомонтирование внешних накопителей, даже обычную USB-флешку не удается подключить - получаю сообщение, что нет прав для совершения данной операции. Причем Chrome Remote Desktop даже не нужно запускать - достаточно, что он просто установлен в системе и монтирование перестает работать. Удаление Chrome Remote Desktop моментально решает эту проблему, не нужно ни перезагружаться, ни даже перезапускать сессию. Как одно с другим связано я не знаю, это вопрос к разработчикам. В сети полно сообщений об этой проблеме, которая существует уже много лет и которую, похоже, даже не пытаются исправить.
SO DAMN DIFFICULT! Why doesn't this integrate with google meet natively? Such a waste of time and effort.
