AboveVTT is simply the best VTT I've ever used. It's simple and easy for my players to understand. I love all the new features that are being added and appreciate the love and care poured into this project. If you DM and have a DnDBeyond account - get this extension, you'll be glad you did. The best VTT I have ever used! I can't recommend it enough. It has saved me so much time and money. The fact that it can access my paid content from D&DBeyond is fantastic! It's also very easy to use and run games with.
For a free product this really goes above and beyond (har har). The features are simple to use, easy to learn, and really let you get into the game asap as opposed to hours-long tutorials on how to use the program. It's also very low-demand on your players. They install a chrome extension and then make a character with DNDBeyond (which they'll probably use anyway because it's a great app). That's it! They're ready to play! The devs are responsive to any questions and are open to suggestions. I'm always excited with a new build as they slowly add new features and QoL improvements. Bravo and keep up the great work! We all appreciate it!
So impressed with AboveVTT. It's got all the features I need, it works brilliantly with my stuff on D&D Beyond and it's made DMing a group of middle-aged first-time roleplayers an absolute dream. I can't praise this highly enough.
I have now been dm’ing for about a month using Above. Now have two of my players wanting to start dm’ing because of the tool. This has seriously been amazing. Such a change to accessibility for players AND DM’s.
Integrates shockingly well with DnDBeyond. When I was initially trying it out, I found myself thinking "that's it?" when it came to how easy to setup each part is. A bit feature light right now but I appreciate its simplicity. No worrying about buying the same content multiple places just to save some time, easily adding all of my purchased assets, it's awesome.
In two weeks, I went from never hearing of AboveVTT to now using it for all of my campaigns, plus turning on a few DM friends to it as well. Goodbye, Roll20! If you actively use DDB for your campaigns, whether live or remote, this extension will facilitate everything you need to do as a DM. It's just that good. Period.
Super lightweight VTT that integrates well with DNDBeyond. Constantly improving with active development. I can add maps from DNDBeyond books in seconds, and if I find a battlemap online that I like, I can add it on-the-fly. Sound sharing, though basic is pretty cool too. Also supports video maps!
FoundryVTT and roll20 are now obsolete. The devs did an amazing job with this! So easy, an idiot like me can get a campaign running in less than 10 minutes. Foundry is great, but is too complex to use.
