Extension to return old Twitter layout from 2015 (or 2018). WORKS IN 2026!

This extension doesn't add any CSS on top of original Twitter. It's fully different client that replaces original new Twitter client, making it faster than alternatives that just add style on top of Twitter. This extension requires you to be logged in to Twitter account.

Please visit https://twitter.com/old/settings after installing to make it work just as you like. It switches to chronological timeline by default, you can switch back to algorithmical timeline in settings.

You can visit unchanged Twitter by visiting https://twitter.com?newtwitter=true.

It's cool, twitters new Desktop UI is slow, buggy, generally awful, and this extension fixes a lot of that. Ctrl+F, can you believe it! My old laptop's fans not whirring to run a couple of tabs of what is ultimately a text-based website, lol. The main issue for me is that you can't post longer tweets. Longer tweets display fine, but if you want to post one yourself, the post button greys out have 280chars even if your account has longer tweets enabled. I use this feature, so for now, I'm disabling the extension

nice but it removes the gif button that lets you access tenor and stuff when replying to or posting tweets and i used that a lot so /:

hi i have been using this for like a year now, and today whenever i go to someone's profile it says rate limit exceeded. i wonder if it is something with this software or if its just twitter acting up again. can anyone help me?
