What is IRIS?
IRIS Invigilation (IRIS) is a software program that helps provide educators assurance of assessment integrity during online and remote assessment. It records audio, video, and computer screen activity for the duration of a test/exam. It analyses this information using machine learning and automatically flags potential academic dishonesty through displaying the data in an easy to use reporting dashboard.
How does it work?
IRIS records video of a student's face throughout their proctored exam tracking head and eye movement. It records the audio from the student computer’s microphone video from their webcam and takes successive screenshots of what the student is seeing on their computer screen. Facial markers are identified and tracked; categorising and distinguishing innocent behaviours from dishonest behaviours. Educators can then review this data at a time that is convenient to help ensure student identity verification and assessment integrity.

IRIS Invigilation software is a safe, secure and necessary method of maintaining academic integrity at a university/institute. The proctoring/invigilation of online assessments is necessary when conducting online learning to ensure educational standards are maintained and to avoid academic dishonesty. This tool is the worst invigilator app ever. The face detection does not work property, it lags constantly and occasionally freezes. This is a chromium extension for goodness sakes... why does a chromium extension be so laggy and freeze constantly? I can bet a high school dropout can create a better invigilator app than Iris for chromium-based browsers. This is what happens when corporations don't read comments... they are lazy to improve their buggy software, let alone their inability to take criticism.

the face detection was disabled I dnt know why please help
ive been struggling for the past 2 years to write my UNISA exams with this IRIS Invigilators app. i have lost 2 years and been setback because this app works one day and the next day it just doesnt work. i couldt write my edam again today because the robot didnt pop up and someof the unsa consultants are so rue thry refuse to help
This thing is very useless and not user-friendly at all.
Not user friendly
Its inconsistent and crashes most of the time.
It is not user friendly. I downloaded the app and successfuly used it once after that everytime when writing tests, it is difficult to access it or to find it active. It is terrible!
Systems like these make me wish one could give a zero-star review.
