SimIntpr is a virtual Simultaneous Interpreter for YouTube videos. It translates YouTube video subtitles and speaks them out.
If you want to watch any YouTube video and hear the voice of your own language, SimIntpr is your thumb of choice. It can translate the YouTube subtitles / captions into almost all widely used languages and read them out.
SimIntpr uses state-of-art Text-To-Speech(TTS) Engine to generate synthesized voice. It supports as many as 67 voices covering almost 30 different languages.
Currently, to make the extension work, the YouTube video should have at least 1 official subtitle. You need to choose a YouTube official subtitle as the translation source, then select your preferred voice language, tune, speed, etc.
We're working on supporting uploading your local subtitles, or links to external subtitles.
Once you set up, SimIntpr speaks out your preferred language and voice, just as a virtual simultaneous interpreter. The translated voice does not conflict with the YouTube original one. So you can keep them both and adjust the volume separately as you wish.

For anyone who loves exploring global perspectives through YouTube videos, SimIntpr is a must-have. The extension does an excellent job of translating subtitles and speaking them out loud, making it easier to dive into content in languages I don’t understand. The adjustable playback speed and clear interface are features I use regularly. However, there are occasional glitches where the extension doesn’t activate, which can be frustrating mid-video. That said, the support team seems proactive in resolving issues, which gives me confidence in its development. With a bit more stability, SimIntpr will be a go-to tool for many.

tiene muchos errores , pone palabras que no están en el video, te da solo 5 minutos, y es difícil que agarre los idiomas ya que muchas veces le puse español, japonés o ingles y muchos videos no los traduce, y encima muchas veces cuando estas en un video se supone que tendría que detectar en que idioma esta el video (no lo hace) y cuando le doy a que lo reintente sale un error (err:Cannot read properties of null (reading 'length')) también muchas veces no salen las voces. ¿enserio asi quieren que uno les pague? no importa si es 1 usd y que usen tecnología externa, pero por lo menos agano lo bien. en si no vale la pena, no pierdan su tiempo ni dinero
