You sit down at the computer, and you swear you'll be productive. Next thing you know, it's twelve hours later. You've checked your email, updated your Facebook status, blown through 200 pages of Reddit, read every article in your Twitter feed, looked up your favorite band on Wikipedia, vanity googled yourself, cyber-stalked your ex, browsed through all your high-school crushes' Instagram feeds, and lost a week's pay playing online poker.
What you haven't done is WORK.

This is a great web browser tool for those with ADHD or who just have trouble focusing in general. I have two warnings: (1) if you use it on a Sync'ed Google account, be careful because it will install itself on another computer's Chrome application the next time it is logged into the same Google account. You will then have to wait a day to correct any time settings. (This happened to me-- installed it on my work laptop. Next day, used my work profile on home laptop without realizing the StayFocusd timer was counting down on me due to issue #2, next.) (2) if you turn on your computer, start Chrome, then get called away from your computer, be very careful that the page is NOT open to a restricted site! Once all of your settings are working correctly, you will be very glad to have this installed.
it gets disabled at least once a month. i am tired of reinstalling it
great idea and everything, BUT: *the ux reeeeeeealy sucks. it's really confusing to use, there needs to be a clean interface to differentiate between a) block distractful websites for N hours VS b)have limited amount of time per day to use a website. personally, i have no idea why would anyone use b) rather than a) and that's a default mode. in order to block websites in general is hidden somewhere in the options and makes trillion alerts before doing what it should *sometimes it shows the blocked page for a little while before telling you that it's blocked *did i mention the ux really sucks? i have uninstalled this extension because it was truly confusing
Great extension, a lot better than any other that I have used. My only thing would be for an option to disable your extensions as well. I use Mighty text, which constantly pops up with notifications, so I'm hoping that it would eventually be implemented. Thanks for this great app!
I started online homeschooling recently and I was having a hard time focusing due to the availability of other websites, but since I got this extension I've been more productive than ever
very useful app
I would rate 5 stars if it allows me to set specific time for each different site. Like, 10 mins for Quora, 1 hour for Gmail, and so on. Is this in the works? Or is there a github repo where I might be able to help out?
Distraction is the enemy of success :) I like this extension much, and it is one of the recommended extension I wrote about on my blog. Keep up the good stufF!
Same with a lot of people, I've seen a spike in my productivity.
Perfect for me when I'm doing homework. I finally stopped procrastinating for once! (Love the kitten getting shocked thing)
