A badge of your current country is shown on the icon, which will refresh every 3s. So you can easily see, if you have a broken VPN or proxy connection when the country-code changes unexpectedly. Additionally a notification appears on your desktop when one of your IP addresses (IPv4 or IPv6) has changed - of course, it can be turned off in settings.
You can also display your position on a map by clicking the corresponding button next to the IP address.
Your user agent is shown in the entries as well.

The request to the server to obtain your geolocational information is secured at least with TLSv1. Also Perfect Forward Secrecy is enabled.

Ten stars out of five from me! A plugin without competition for those who need geolocation! After frustratingly going through 20+ different "display IP" and "geolocation" extensions, I've finally found a geolocation extension that's designed with basic common sense in mind! I would give this extension ten stars if I could, because it's apparently the only geolocation extension in the entire Chrome web store that shows you your country location directly on the extension icon, without any need to navigate with clicking or scrolling to get to this basic information. This is, needless to say, important for anyone using VPN:s or proxy servers. All other geolocation extensions either require you to click the icon to show country data or they show the website's country flag instead of yours... Having possible future improvements in mind, it would be great to see the country flag alongside the country letter code in the icon, in place of the static globe (or have the globe colored in the colors of the country flag). And it wouldn't hurt to also have the IP address appear in the icon highlight text instead of the name of the extension. That would make an already great extension close to perfect!
Without having to open the extension to see your IP, it tells you what country the IP belongs to. This is great way to check if your HTTP/HTTPS proxy is working correctly or not (if you use a different country). This is the only extension I found that was able to correctly identify where the IP address was. Many extensions seem to be confused with the IP geolocation.

Love the auto notification feature. Sometimes this extension fails (shows ERR on the icon).

Excelente Extension
Works OK ... But the extension even though finds the correct IP Address and general location data such as the Country and the City, but does not pinpoint the exact location of the server in the map.
Arbeitet sehr schnell und zuverlässig. Wünschenswert wäre eine Anzeige der IPv6-Adresse, schön wäre eine Anzeige per Länderflagge.
This IP Extension gives the IP and Location. Small but good extension. Will also let you know if you have any leaks which is nice actually.
