As well as being a great general purpose screen dimmer, Visor's overlays and point of focus feature may be assistive to users with visual perceptual difficulties such as Dyslexia, Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome and Visual Stress.
Whilst research shows results vary from person to person, some users may find that the use of overlays can help with fluency, eye-strain, concentration and comprehension whilst reading.
In addition to the traditional overlay method, Visor also employs a point of focus feature, designed to further reduce visual confusions and the tendency to skip lines.
This horizontal focal point tracks your mouse, giving full focus to the content being read, whilst reducing the visual noise of the surrounding page.

Hopfully its free unlike the free trial with read and write, so far so good, i love it!
it just works. Best readability extension that I know. The only one I use apart from Vivaldi browser default read mode features. Visor settings: red green blue contrast height of the point of focus overlay.

This is such a beautiful extension. More than the usage of the extension, I love the idea behind it and of course, the presentation. Good job developer :). I want to rate it 4.5 stars. 0.5 deducted for manually applying the extension every time. Chrome extension dev team, any way to rate 4.5 stars ?

This extension dims the page you're reading leaving a page wide horizontal bar undimmed or less dimmed which stays with your mouse. Simple, intuitive, and with good presets. You can completely control the width of the bar and the colors of the dimmed and undimmed portions of the page. I have been looking for something like this off and on when I think of it for a long long time. I'm going to give this five stars in spite of two things I'd like to see fixed. One, this doesn't work on Kindle Cloud Reader (read.amazon.com) which is a browser based reader. Two, it would be nice if bar autodetected the line-height and used that as a starting point for the bar each time it was turned on. But having to set the bar is a brief and minor inconvenience.
