The Scrible service streamlines the research and writing process for students and teachers, but is generally useful to anyone researching anything on the internet.
The Scrible Toolbar extension allows you to save and work with articles in Scrible while browsing the web. Click the extension to launch our Toolbar on any webpage or PDF. This will save it to your Scrible account and open up a Toolbar with tools to highlight, comment, and more. If you revisit a page you've previously saved to your account with the Toolbar, the Toolbar will automatically launch and reload your annotations.
Historically, teachers and students have had to manage multiple tools through the research and writing workflow. Scrible consolidates those tools in one place, streamlining a student's process of curating, annotating, citing and writing. Our Toolbar lets you:
- Save web pages, PDFs and database articles instantly
- Highlight key facts and passages to refer to later
- Annotate and add comments to capture first thoughts

Missing a lot of options and repeatedly asks me to log-in even when I've checked to remember password.
Made a switch from Diigo. Gotta love a new challenger!
Integrates with Evernote, adding more tools to annotate and highlight.
Scrible is a great tool for those looking to mark up webpages with personal annotations. With technologies constantly evolving, I don't find that I use this as often as I did a year ago, but then my needs have changed.
This is an awesome tool
excellent plugin, loving it.
I like what it does, but the user interface leaves something to be desired. PROS: - sorting by Title - multiple color highlighting - annotations CONS: - The extension doesn't automatically save the page when you click the button; instead, it opens a toolbar, and you have to click one of the several icons on that toolbar. You need to hover over each icon to find out what they mean. (the quickest way to cache is by clicking the link icon) I like being able to highlight & annotate, but only AFTER I've saved the page. - The button to go to "My Library" doesn't always load the page correctly. When this happens, you have to click the My Library link again to get it to reload. Best alternative: Diigo The downside of diigo is no Title sort feature. For me, that's a nuisance.
