A big downgrade from the Google Notifier app. Doesn't update email count right, doesn't preview emails, isn't customizable. I don't understand why Google is removing functionality from its products.
Not nearly as good as the old Beta. Needs message previews at the very least.

Not sure why Google is discontinuing the notifier program, because it's great. Now we're stuck with several other programs - all of which have NO EMAIL ARRIVAL SOUND. WE NEED THIS FEATURE. I customized my previous program to a specific email sound, so that if I'm waiting for an important email in another room or away from my screen I can HEAR the email arrive. Unfortunately, large corporations are at war with users. The two biggest companies at war with users are Apple and Microsoft. They eliminate features. Move the features around to different places. Change features to the point of worthlessness. Apple is most guilty of wreaking havoc with each major update. That said, I am ever hopeful that Google will LISTEN to its paying customers and work to improve work life. I can't live without Google.
Cannot use this with multiple accounts. A feature like select one account to show notifications could have been better.
Google Desktop Notifier got axed, and this was meant to be the replacement. However, it's pretty useless to have an app that allows me to see if I have unread messages live inside the browser. The whole idea was that I *didn't* have to have my browser open to see if I got new mail. A quick glance at the bar at the top and I was good to go. Very disappointed.
