Everyone who has problems with the version of Google Mail Checker 4.4.1, uninstall the extension and reinstall it again, and the problem will be solved. The icon is gray, but as soon as you have a new email, the icon will be activated and will have its original ''reddish'' color showing the number of emails, and as soon as you look at your emails and delete them, the icon will return to gray again.
stopped working this morning, seems there is a problem, I tried to update but noting is happened.
Seems broken as of today, anyone else? It's always greyed out with a question mark.

vielleicht interessant für andere: zeigt seit dem Update am 3.6 DANN ein graues Symbol mit Fragezeichen wenn man keine ungelesenen mails hat. Sollte normalerweise ein roter umschlag ohne zahl sein. Bei mindestens 1 ungelesener Mail funktioniert es wie bisher. Insofern ein Bug, nicht wirklich schlimm wenn man es weiss, sollte aber mal behoben werden. Ohne den Fehler macht es was es soll, also 5 sterne
