Switched to a subscription model and limited free functionality to three times a day, essentially making it unusable for normal web surfing. Looking for alternatives. EDIT: After an update, it now works ‘40 times a week,’ which is better, but still awful. On top of that, it opens a new tab and takes the focus from whatever you were doing every time you exceed that limit, just to advertise its paid service. Very annoying. I am flagging this extension as hostile and urge others to do the same.

The enshitification has begun. Features that were once free are now locked behind a monthly subscription, with prompts to pay for what used to be included for free. While a lifetime plan is offered, the bait-and-switch tactics make it hard to trust that it will truly remain valid in the future. On top of that, I don’t want to be forced to sign in, send data back to the developer, or hand over personal information just to use a simple browser extension. This used to be a great tool, but now it’s gone in the bin. What a shame.

I get that it's not free to create a extension that require the amount of maintenance that this does.. But first providing a free version and allowing your users to do part of your job (finding pages where it doesn't work) and then switch to a subscription seems a bit fishy...

Extension has switched to a subscription model and spammed me with tabs asking for money. That's not the way to handle this. Stop supporting the current version and offer a new version with a subscription if that's what you want to do. Don't pull a bait and switch. Uninstalled and switched to an open source alternative.

This extension does it's job really well. If you're happy to pay for the extension, which has both a subscription and a reasonably priced lifetime option, then this extension is fantastic and you should use it. It works on many (but not all) websites and makes browsing the web much easier. Otherwise if you aren't willing to part with your money, it might be better looking elsewhere for free options, although your experience may vary. The reason this is review is only 3 stars is because of the sudden switch to a paid model. I think it's a fair price and a reasonable ask for the time the developers have put in to give us a more convenient and safer internet, but it would have been nice to have some warning before the functionality of the free extension was stunted. This sudden switch up has me worried for the future of the extension. What else may change in the future without warning? Or what if the lifetime payment ends up being removed and requires a subscription because of a sudden change in policy? These are questions I wouldn't have had if there was prior warning before changes were implemented. EDIT: The developers have listened to the feedback and increased the free websites per day from 3 to 40, with a re-evaluation on the amount of free sites in the next year. Although my trust is still hurt, I do appreciate this change and I think it's a positive step in the right direction for clear communication in the future. I've changed my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars as a result.
