It will help you optimize your video viewing by allowing you to make quick playback speed adjustments, as well as rewind the video to hear the last few second one more time. We don't read at a constant speed, and we talk much slower than we read - there is no reason why we have to listen at a constant speed and at a (very) slow rate.
Once the extension is installed simply navigate to any page that offers HTML5 video, and you'll see a speed indicator in top left corner of the video player. Hover over the indicator to reveal the controls to accelerate, slowdown, or rewind the video (10 seconds + lowers playback speed). Or, even better, use your keyboard:
- S - decrease playback speed.
- D - increase playback speed.
- R - reset playback speed.

I have Asperger's/ASD. It is harder for me to process verbal information because my mind isn't filtering out much of the background noise in my environment. People not on the autistic spectrum are likely not familiar with this experience. Ever since adding this extension to Chrome, I have been able to watch all information-dense videos at a slower speed (especially videos that don't have built-in speed controllers). This has been an extremely valuable tool as I'm a lifelong learner and often watching videos. The hotkeys are extremely useful as well! Thank you very much to the developer(s). I will share this with the Aspie/ASD communities which I am a part of.

Was great, then something happened today causing videos to buffer but not play. As soon as I disabled it the videos could again play.
Great app, have been using it to speed up twitch streams cause the native speedup to catchup with lag isnt enough and makes the audio sound odd. Recently stopped working for this purpose however, twitch seems to automatically control stream rates now. Any chance y'all can fix? Thx
This extension saves me so much time on a daily basis. From speeding up Youtube videos faster than 2x, to speeding up 3rd party embedded players on many websites. I freakin' love this.
I have been using this extension for 2 years now and it has saved me soo much time I absolutely love it one of the best chrome extension I have ever tried.
