It will help you optimize your video viewing by allowing you to make quick playback speed adjustments, as well as rewind the video to hear the last few second one more time. We don't read at a constant speed, and we talk much slower than we read - there is no reason why we have to listen at a constant speed and at a (very) slow rate.
Once the extension is installed simply navigate to any page that offers HTML5 video, and you'll see a speed indicator in top left corner of the video player. Hover over the indicator to reveal the controls to accelerate, slowdown, or rewind the video (10 seconds + lowers playback speed). Or, even better, use your keyboard:
- S - decrease playback speed.
- D - increase playback speed.
- R - reset playback speed.

just awesome
2026/4/4のアプデでバグり散らかしてる。 アマプラでは使えるが、youtubeやニコニコでは使い物にならない。 アマプラ以外はパクリっぽい拡張機能の「ビデオスピードコントローラー」を使った方が良い。
top most usefull extensions!!
The latest update is much worse than it was before. I had to reset some of my shortcuts to make the overlay buttons work correctly. The x button to close the overlay is gone so you have to have a keybind. It used to be that speed is saved on a overall level and not when you press play. (Like you have 2 youtube videos open but want them on diffrent speed). So I had to go in and unpress the Remember playback speed.
Been using this for years and the QOL improvement is unmatched. That being said, there has been a recent update where the icon stays hidden even as I am adjusting the speed, instead of briefly appearing and then disappearing again. This makes it somewhat annoying to get to the speed I want. It would be nice if this behavior was reverted or changed to an option in the settings. Edit: Works like it did before, thanks!
use to work just fine but for some reason now when you want to speed up the playback by pressing ctrl D. If I just press "D" I get a popup with a video version. select it again and it jumps.20 times the speed, not .10. pressing "S" and speed decreases fine.

Essential extension! It gives you better speed control than YouTube Premium for free. You can set any speed you want, far exceeding the standard options. 10/10!
This is really great for when you start getting too excited while watching homework videos and need to slow things down to keep the learning going in a controlled manner. Thanks so much for this. 6/5 stars.
great and responsive (with some errors some times). the most important feature is speeding videos outside youtube.
