This is an open-source extension that changes homepage of Youtube (only search bar) and drops recommendations/comments from other pages.
Extension requires access to Youtube website to change its outlook.
Extension icon opens a popup with an option to show/hide the comments section of a video (to check timestamps in comments, for example). In the latest version, an option to temporarily disable the extension was added.
You can hover over the YouTube logo to access the navigation menu – playlists, liked videos, watch history, etc.

Exactly what I needed. Makes YT's homepage a searchbox, removes a bunch of distractions and annoyances from videos, and still gives me access to my watch history and subscriptions for when I need them!

such a godd extention for yt when i need to focus
No jokes, I used to be addicted to youtube, spending hours daily on braindead content. This add-on as honestly changed my productivity. Could add more features but its already good miles better than default yt.
