I have used this extension happily for a year now but today when I tried opening it, it wants permissions I a feel are a gross invasion of privacy i.e. "Desktop for Instagram has requested additional permissions. It could: read and change all the data on all the websites you visit". So not just the data on Instagram.com, but all of them and including webcam. I'd find a more respectful extension if I were you.
